Lucie's story - ''It changed my life!''

Today, we're grateful to share Lucie Boucher's story of her journey before and during YWWL.

Here it is...

For years I didn't feel good about my body, but I never really followed a diet as such until 2019. May 2019 to be precise. The day everything clicked, there was a family photo shoot and I didn't feel good about my body at all. I really didn't!  I was so uncomfortable! I wanted to hide behind everyone. I was 250 lbs at the time (I'm 5'3), so that gives you an idea. But all that to say, that's when I tried weight loss diets. The first one made me so miserable that I only lasted a month, then I tried another one. I lost 64 lbs with this program, but after 3 years I couldn't stand having to write down everything I ate and calculate the points. I told myself I didn't want to count and calculate everything I ate all my life! I know what to do now! So I quit, but after a few months I gained back 20 to 25 lbs. Then I started the same program again, but I couldn't lose any weight. I felt bad and guilty. I didn't want to go through the whole process again. It took time and energy that I no longer had.

I'd been following YWWL for a few months on social networks and one day I sent Josée a message. She convinced me and I signed up! It's May 31, 2023, a date I won't forget! It changed my life! I have no regrets, I feel so good about myself. I can even say that I feel I'm a better person for myself and those around me. It was difficult at the very beginning because I thought, how am I going to know when I'm in deficit if I don't calculate anything? No rules? I won't be able to! The answer is yes, I can! The proof is that I'm now 10 lbs lighter than I was in June and my weight is still trending down. All this without calculating, weighing my food or wasting time writing down what I eat! None of that. I simply listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. I practice "food freedom" and work on my "mindset". Nothing is forbidden! I'm not saying it's easy, I'm still working on it! But the most important thing is how good I feel inside without any guilt. Because I'm not doing anything wrong!

At first I tried the 7-day lifestyle challenge tool to see what I was consuming and when. It helped me see things more clearly. Now I use the non-negotiables tool and I bought myself a planner that I love! I write everything in it like a diary. It helps me a lot with my journey and keeping track of my habits that I want to work on. I listen to YWWL videos every day! I've also been emailing TEAM at least once a week since the very beginning. Even when I don't have much to say and they reply every time! Lol

So here is my advice: listen to YWWL videos, and apply what speaks to you. Email TEAM! They're wonderful! But above all, listen to your body! Talk to yourself as you would to a friend! With kindness and compassion!
